Mey is also an experienced sensitivity reader, having consulted on bestselling and award-winning comics and novels such as Lumberjanes, Bitch Planet, and I Hate Everyone But You. She is known for queer comics column “Drawn to Comics,” her writing on trans and Latinx representation especially in all-ages media and comics, and for her writing on body positivity and sex.
